What Documents Will My Attorney Need After My Accident?

 
If you are involved in a car accident and have an appointment with a car accident attorney you will need to bring with you certain documents that will aid in preparing your case.

All the documents you provide will aid your personal injury attorney with the ammunition he/she needs to fight the case on your behalf while increasing your chances of receiving compensation for injuries and damages.

The documents that will need with for your appointment with your attorney may
include:
Your auto insurance policy – this will provide your personal injury attorney with information regarding the type of insurance you have and what you are entitled to if you were involved in a car accident.

Proof of your auto insurance payments
– this will ensure that your monthly premiums were paid on time and you were covered at the time of the accident. All correspondence from yourself and the insurance carrier is a huge plus.

Other Driver’s Information
– any information you can provide to do with the other driver involved in the accident such as name, address, telephone number, and insurance coverage.

Witness Information
– any information you can provide of witnesses that saw the car accident such as name, address, and telephone number. If you received any statements from witnesses, you should also add these with this information.

Accident or Police Report
– This report is one of the most important things you will need as it will include all pertinent information regarding the car accident.
